Going back to school is different this year. That's why we've teamed up with Crabtree Kitchen + Bar and the entire Centennial team to support Vibe members, Crabtree Brands staff members and their families by offering on-site tutoring and remote learning support for students in grades K - 8. During these uncertain times, we know it's difficult to work and support children with virtual learning at the same time. We're here to help you make it all happen, and keep your sanity, too. 

WHO
Students grades K- 8 who have a parent / family member with an active membership at Vibe Coworks and/or is currently on staff at Crabtree Brands (ChocMo, Crabtree Kitchen+Bar or High Spirits). 

WHAT
Four-hour tutoring + virtual learning sessions for students grades K - 8, facilitated by experienced tutors. The tutors will assist with your child with assignments and e-learning technology, as provided by their registered school / teacher(s), and provide interactive tutoring customized to areas where they might need a little extra help or practice. Each session will include brain breaks, monitored time outside at Centennial Park, and supplemental activities such as art, STEM play, etc.  

WHEN
Sessions are offered 8:30am - 12:30pm every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, beginning Tuesday, Sept 8th. Sessions are booked online; a Vibe account is required. To help us with tutor scheduling, parents are required to pre-book the days that their student will attend at least one month in advance. Additional drop-in days can be scheduled ad hoc as needed. Sessions that do not have a minimum of 8 students registered will be cancelled. 

WHERE
The tutoring sessions will be held in the Garden Room at Crabtree Kitchen+Bar, just across the hallway from Vibe Coworks. Students are required to have a parent or guardian remain on site for the duration of the tutoring session, either at Vibe Coworks, or at ChocMo. Students will also be accompanied outdoors to Centennial Park, directly adjacent to The Centennial building, for some break time(s).

COST
Pay What You Can; $38 per student, per session recommended

There is incredible value in our tutors’ experience and knowledge, in The Centennial as a place of safety, learning and socialization for your student, and in YOUR ability to get some much needed work of your own done in a place that is professionally designed for wellness and productivity. We leave it you, to decide in what way you can show up and support these three things given your current resources.

In ‘typical times’, one-on-one private tutoring typically costs $40 - $60 per hour. Small group tutoring offers a more affordable option, while still valuing the time and experience of the tutors. The suggested rate per session rate is $38 per student, which breaks down to $9.50 per hour and covers the cost of our (two) tutors, insurance, cleaning and sanitation. If you're in a position to be able to pay above the suggested $38 per session rate, your contribution will help us to cover costs of fellow Vibe and Crabtree Brands families whose resources are more stretched right now. HOW TO SIGN UP

• Log in to your VIbe Coworks account. 
  
  
• Under events, register for each of the dates you'd like for your child to attend for the entirety of the upcoming month (and beyond, if you know those dates already!). Unfortunately there is currently no way to set this up as a recurring registration. You'll need to individually register for each date. 
  
  
• If you would like to register multiple students, please drop us a line (hello@vibecoworks.com) and we'll help you get set up from the back end. Our system does not currently know how to allow more than the account holder to register for events, darnit! (Did we mention our systems never imagined serving for tutoring sessions? Go figure.)
  
  
• Be on the look out for an email from us summarizing the amount due for the coming month, as per the suggested per session, per student rate of $38. Included you'll find a link for payment, at your discretion.
  
  
• Additional drop-in days can be added on an adhoc, space available basis. 
  
  
• Refunds will be issued in the event that the 8 student per session minimum is not met, and/or in the event that the program must be shut down due to a positive COVID exposure within the Centennial community. Refunds will not be issued in the event of student illness, vacation, no show, or change of plans.
